They always blame the teachers, who have 20+ kids per class for a few hours a day. Meanwhile, two parents live with the kid 24/7 and didn’t catch on. I wonder who is more responsible?

As a former 4th grade teacher, this really upsets me. You have never sat and read with your child? You hadn't noticed him struggling at all? This is why teachers are burnt out. It's an uphill battle with parents who aren't invested in their children's growth. She's course correcting NOW but still.
