We have had those hard conversations as well. My husband has been working to build his retirement because he feels that is what he could leave for myself and my sons. And being terminally ill he does not qualify for additional life insurance. If divorced, then it can get messy. It’s a catch 22.

I completely understand. If my husband and I got divorced he would be eligible for healthcare. We’ve been told by people… you could always get a divorce. After 24+ years of marriage neither of us would take that step. System is broken.

The 24 mo. wait is a problem for those whose life expectancy is less than 24 months. When you worked your entire life and paid your fair share, and then told you make too much $ for Medicaid. Made to work through treatments and illness. I appreciate your posts/forum to share my thoughts today!
