This is moot when we both agree the entire concept is wrong to begin with. Getting bogged down in Real ID is not the point.

In my state I had to show my SS, BC and marriage certificate. If your state doesn’t require that with a name change then they are not following the Real ID Act req’s, so no, your Real ID wouldn’t work to vote in your state.

Not that I am in ANY WAY approving of this nonsense bill - but this would only happen if you don’t have a Real ID in your married name. It’s the first form of ID listed.
