All this to say, Pride month has felt very different this year. But at its core Pride has always been about defiance of those trying to force us to fit into a certain mold. To experience queer joy and acceptance is an act of defiance towards those trying to push us down.

It also has been difficult to see the violence and conflict that has been perpetuated by those in power abroad, and disheartening that the international community has not done enough to stop it or help those in need.

As a child of immigrants it has also been frightening to see the injustices the administration has been conducting towards people perceived to be outsiders, as people have been torn from their families and lives they've known, to be shipped off to places without due process

And we cannot ignore that the most vulnerable members of our community are being constantly attacked and legislated against for just trying to exist

Back when I was starting drawing and didn't have a tablet, I mainly drew on paper, scanned it, and then inked and colored using "vector drawing" using a mouse. Here's examples of my older art where I first used pencil
