Assoc prof media studies @Fordham. Writing a book about containment and its discontents; essays on these themes, with a side of 90s nerdcore nostalgia, at MOGPROFFERY on Substack.

I also wrote a book about corpses called Dead Matter (Minnesota)
So thrilled to be offering this panel at SCMS with @amyherzog.bsky.social, Valeria Sonna, Véronica Kretschel and Amanda Lagerkvist. Who am I gonna see in Chicago?

Really thrilled for this panel discussion on Wednesday with @slothprof.bsky.social. Disability folks and affect folks and really any academic folks should be reading her stunning Dear Elia.

Zizek is, among many other things, a clown- but he may be optimally positioned (biographically and methodologically) to understand and explain the obscenity of this moment.

Much better than 2016’s viral poem, “Good Bones.” I don’t wanna sell my kids on this world.

I don’t know why this one hit after so much appalling coverage of Netanyahu’s monstrosity, but whoa. “Mistakes were made”

Riveting. SO much better than the standard journalistic “commercial meat is murder” narrative. Yes AND this is the norm for how our food is produced. AND labor might shape our lives in a different way to capital. Violence, death, reason run amok — and also intimacy, mystical heuristics, necromancy.

Got a teensy royalty check for this cutie today. Not bad for an academic book published 8 years ago. It’s sorta celebrity death plus autotheory…that yellow dead guy is wearing a white “glove” cos he’s supposed to be MJ.

I’m making garam masala and thinking about how to eat together is to be in a body in an intimate and loving way. It requires safety and care. If nothing else, I can make a little of that for a very few, very dear, very proximate bodies. Masalas against heartbreak.
