The Movement for the Defence of the Territories and Ecosystems of Bocas del Toro (MODETEAB) is a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting the lands, rights, and cultures of Ngäbe, Buglé, and Campesino peoples in Panama.

Indigenous communities in Panama faced brutal repression this year. In June, “Operation Omega” saw homes raided, families fleeing, and people injured, leading to the deaths of two people. Now, MODETEAB and other civil society groups in Panama are taking their fight to the international stage.
