update on this: i added plastic washers and the issue is all but fixed now. i cant notice any bleed at all. thanks everyone for your suggestions. Not ideal but im happy enough with this

It's the same 1280x1024 panel that would be in the majority of 5:4 panels from Dell, BenQ etc. That "retro" part is the custom electronics/number of inputs this thing has on it.

Did anyone back the Checkmate Retro IPS display? I received mine recently and I can't deal with the awful backlight bleed on the bezel edges only after 4-5 hours of use. Unacceptable for the price we invested into this product. Anyone else seeing that?
