So finally released a new version of What's Now Playing @ whatsnowplaying.github.io . Lots of bug fixes but biggest feature additions are probably support for JRiver Media Center and @kickcom.bsky.social . Might be the first software for it for DJs?

It occurred to me last night watching a music streamer that a big chunk of them are as entertaining as watching a radio. They just stand there and sometimes turn a nob. I suspect many of them are happy that the video people are being effectively kicked off the platform.

I'm mostly convinced that chromaprint is sort of broken and it might just be algorithmic issues given how much any 'no sound' in the beginning of a track throws it off. Plus the last release is now 2 major ffmpeg releases behind ... @metabrainz.org

I'm watching a stream where someone replaced the iconic Bowie on SNL in '79 performance with the album version. I honestly feel cheated. The songs performed that night was pretty much the end of the 70s.
