In short, people don’t need a formal education, or high “IQ”, etc. to be intellectually stimulating and there’s many types of intelligence someone could posses.

These gross people that insist you need to have a degree and what not to be “sapio” or people who miss the entire point of what it is

It’s important to be aware of toxic individuals and the terms they use, but sapio is something that is a valid term that others have co-opted in a harmful way. It’s saddening and isolating how often others have told me I should stop identifying as such because of those toxic, elitist, individuals 😞

Sex workers are also left in the position of needing to use popular terms to label themselves and their content to reach patrons, and that label is the most widely known for identifying a focus on one of the categories of intelligence. There’s not really another way to label it so succinctly

That’s part of why I just use sapio, which is a valid identity. Ableist and classist pricks have used it incorrectly before — It still is the only descriptor that fits for some to describe that kind of attraction. I am sapio, disabled, and an autodidact — EVERYONE is intelligent in some way 🖤
