But the whole reason I wrote this piece is because miscarriage is common, and it's just as much a part of the narrative of pregnancy and family growth-- even if it's not a happy ending.

It feels strange posting about this, a it's something I've tried to actively not think about since it happened for the first time last summer, and then again just before Christmas.

The result? I can feel the creativity, self-love and excitement for life coming back, after all the years I tried to fit a mold that didn't serve me
