I respect your love for Charlotte, George, but as someone who had a sizable portion of their life wrecked after developing a health condition that prevented them from driving while living in NC, if I ever find a genie's lamp, the suburban hellscape of NC will be razed to the bedrock.

The anti-immigration stuff on Reddit is truly out of control. On top of that, I constantly see earnestly made, interesting questions, just getting the same 20 shitty rehashed jokes over and over again. The use case shrinks on the daily. The website has become a real misery machine and I’m over it.

Restricting access based on “needed skills” is not as great as many seem to think it is. Those skills are needed now, but by rejecting workers who are not in a “needed skills” group often creates big holes in the future as we tend to be quite shit about planning for what skills will be needed

Unemployment in Spain used to be considerably worse. Unemployment is on a very positive trajectory in Spain.

Am European in Europe, also quite common here
October 28, 2025 at 5:19 PM
But they always seem to think it wouldn’t work here or that you are crazy for even suggesting such a ridiculous thing
October 24, 2025 at 4:59 PM
I find it crazy how in Europe we have countries like Germany whose citizens absolutely freak out anytime there are proposals that would be extremely common place in the Netherlands or Denmark. Ostensibly you would assume that there would be some sort of normalization especially in border cities

papers rather than actually conveying the current medical guidance from the more established institutions. Leading to just a ridiculous amount of confusion surrounding the topic.
October 9, 2025 at 6:47 PM
On the third hand, I have been starting to see a confusing muddling of information from what some would consider “good resources” that seem to fuel the fires of mold hysteria. Most of these semi trustworthy sources seem to be regurgitating popular belief and a handful of very limited research

for Fido; He will understand your sacrifice. Next you must move to New Mexico where you will spend the next six months eating only seal liver in a tuberculosis sanatorium. After that you will pay 230$ a month for Dr. Woodneva Scamya’s cobra grease to cleanse your blood. Only then will you be saved.

On the other hand, you have the stance that seemingly most of North American society has adopted (more so than in Europe for whatever reason) that MOLD IS ACTUALLY THE VENOM SYMBIOTE. The only way to defend against it is to burn your home along with all your possessions, even the dog, it is too late

On the one hand, you have some of the more trusted medical agencies saying for most people it’s really not a big deal. Some people might have slightly worse reactions to it such as allergy, slightly increased asthma risk, respiratory discomfort. All in all, not really too bad, you should be fine
October 9, 2025 at 6:47 PM
A bit late on this but I think mold is a good example of something that has an insane range of claimed potential harms based on who you end up talking to.

I’m curious as to how much this is set to affect the overall costs. Do you by chance know any of the numbers?
October 2, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Statements like this really muddy the waters on what should be (based on the current research) very cut and dry topics. If you have a personal anecdote that ties in with some data/research by all means go for it, but otherwise I find it to be quite unhelpful and destructive to the conversation

If an EV has a defect that requires a new battery, that alone is many times more resource intensive than an e-bike. That doesn’t even scratch the surface of the amount of cars that simply get totaled due to car accidents.
October 2, 2025 at 11:35 PM
I mean cars break all the time. Sometimes defects from the manufacturer happen. Seems kind of silly to use one small anecdotal experience as a reason to “throw cold water” on something that already has a good deal of research done about it.
