I’m not a serious person. Or at least not someone to take seriously. But I seriously thank you for taking the time to check me out!
“Expanding community oversight of policing has been an uphill battle for decades,” Senator McKnight said. “My hope is that the conversation around CCRBs continues to grow, and as more towns and cities voice their support, we can finally move the needle toward turning this legislation into law.”

A state senator representing Jersey City says civilian oversight boards need to be granted investigatory powers to make real change. “My goal at the state level is to establish a clear framework that guides their work,” she said in a written statement.
New Jersey Cities Are Pressing Resistant State Officials for Civilian Police Oversight
Local officials in Newark, Jersey City, and Trenton want civilian agencies that can investigate police and issue subpoenas. But they keep running into the state’s Democratic leaders.

Christopher Gelpi, a professor of political science at Ohio State University, said in an email that it was “not surprising the rally round the flag effect for this use of force is quite modest.”

The flag is a symbol of freedom, not imperialism.
In the aftermath of his attack on Venezuela, three flash polls conducted by separate outlets found that more Americans oppose the war than support it.
Congrats to Donald Trump on Starting the Least Popular War in Recent Memory
Americans usually love a new war, but polls show Trump’s attack on Venezuela is deeply unpopular.

This is how the FBI Director is handling crimes after the fact. How can I trust them to handle preventing these shootings?
Patel celebrated apprehending a person of interest too soon, only to let them free, and then have the FBI wander around until local police found the suspect days later—all thanks to a user on r/Providence subreddit. trib.al/Ppx3iyw

👀

Checks and Balances buffering, I hope the scales of the judicial branch weigh out that this is an overreach for Missouris Governor.
ON THE DOCKET TODAY:
⚖️ A court will hear arguments as the NAACP seeks to void Missouri’s call for a special session to redraw the state’s congressional map and rewrite the ballot initiative process.

The proposed map would give the GOP an extra seat at the expense of Black voters in Kansas City.

The gerrymandering issue has been escalating since 1812

I’m in agreement with most of the comments so far. There should be a national ban on Gerrymandering, because in the mean time it’s ramping up to be an arms race to snatch seats. @jamestalarico.bsky.social “voters should be choosing their politicians, politicians shouldn’t be choosing their voters”
"Gerrymandering is wrong when Democrats do it and when Republicans do it. It is wrong in in red states and in blue states." That said, what Texas is doing is uniquely wrong and undemocratic.

Trump said this would the best burger, better than all other burgers, and only one chef , the best chef, could serve it up.

He took payment in advance and is now serving an empty plate. His patrons are hungry, and the immigration appetizer is tasting sour since farm hands and day laborers are used.

Personally I wouldn’t talk to police officers like this, but I support everyone’s use of the first amendment.
I also jealously gaurd my fourth amendment rights.
I would be outraged if my refusal to engage in a consensual encounter escalated into my civil rights being fucked.

“HUD Secretary Turner had some interesting requests as part of the deal. They included a dedicated suite on the building’s 19th floor, reserved parking space for his five (5) cars, a dedicated elevator, and hosting his executive assistants on the floor below his penthouse.”

Lies Lies Lies.

Our intelligence community findings are not irrelevant.

This is war mongering. Trump is neither a peacemaker, nor a war time president.

He is a liar.

This also highlights so much as to why I support idea of immigration and customs enforcement, but not ICE.

It’s been weaponized, because there is not an invasion. Miller is pushing them to make arrest by any means necessary, numbers for numbers sake. Ifs disgusting!
