When people use creating placeholders as an excuse for GenAI, they're not being honest. Placeholders are meant to be replaced, and so should be *blindingly fucking obvious* that it's not finalized.

That Era thread is funny but not at all surprising. Nobody has any sort of imagination for how the current situation can be improved via regulation, so just ban it all.

A lot of these sorts of things weren't as tightly controlled as they might nowadays be. The Pokemon Handbooks were riddled with errors, if I remember reading right lol
