My stepmother came back from a trip with a box of bananas, one of lychee, and two of these things that we apparently call "water pears".

They're really hardy, and I'm really curious to eat them now...

An on the spot invention that we cooked up, but here's a heart-of-palm lasagna, with bell peppers, and 'palm oil' sauce (we call it dendê oil, I have no idea how to describe it).

It turned out good. A little sweet. We thought the palm wouldn't cook well, but it did.

The fire fern is a really interesting plant to me. I really like plants that can be used unconventionally.
In Brazil, it's got the popular name of 'azedinha', which would roughly translate to 'little sour', because despite being an ornamental plant, it can be eaten and, well, it's a little sour.

I don't remember when I took this picture, though the date states it's from 2017. The flowers? I have no idea what they are. They're pretty is what.

I've been getting really into The Long Dark lately, and not just due to the gameplay (which I find really enjoyable), but due to visuals. My laptop is a potato, but even at low graphics all the environments feel so nice and cosy, despite the obvious hostility of it all...
