TrekMovie interviewed Tawny Newsome about how the episode came together. It sounds like any communication she had with Avery went through Cirroc. It almost sounds like some Cold War era spy communication stuff because Avery is effectively a hermit when it comes to Trek.

The audio cameo is good but its from a spoken word album Brooks did in 2006. Just in case anyone was wondering how serious he takes his retirement from the Sisko character. I’m a big DS9 nerd and i mostly liked the resolution for those two characters given Brooks was never coming back ever.

I nerd-out (enjoy following) the “streaming wars” and for as much power as netflix has accumulated, they don’t seem to be good with live events. Just a few small adjustments and they’d likely be much better.

Random thought: if I open NetFlips on Apple TV and click the “watch live” button, NetFlips doesn’t actually bring me to the “live” point in the game, instead it returns me to 2+ hours ago when I turned on the NetFlips studio show, realized it was hot garbage, and punched out. Cool

I was also thinking, “these first 35 minutes are kinda just wasting time when they could be very exciting.” Disco was a masterclass in script pages which were just killing time.

If it helps rationalize a short-term subby… it’s an excellent show produced in Canada. You’d be supporting a Canadian production team.

Which F1 podcast? I’d like to give that a listen. I’ve got a Trek podcast (amateur podcaster but sounds professional and focused) and a San Antonio Spurs podcast (beat writers but sounds like constant bumper cars) in my mix. They’re only a couple times per month

lol. I had no idea cirque started their own show. Unfortunately I don’t have a roster spot for another podcast at the moment. I’ve got Musers, Hardline, current podcasts, and a billion daily conf calls. (Norm voice: “you do not have a billion…”)

When I first read this news I very disappointed. But then I realized I still have over half the series to watch! Which is a sign of how stunningly inept P+ is. We better hope they actually start filming S5 soon. No guarantees.
