Hence speed running strats in these games usually using a keyboard or a simple dpad wo analog stick. Both reduce chance of misinputs and improves consistency with platforming.

Like, when people struggle in platformers it’s usually bcs there isn’t analog inputs, so it’s difficult for them to get precision if they’re adding ‘extra’ inputs in their head. If that person is comfy on keyboard then the switch is a no brainer in terms of performance.

Devs don’t solely recommend things based on mechanical difficulty (a lot of the time games are made with a controller experience in mind) but even if they did, they’d still have to factor in that most people find keyboard awkward so it would be bad advice to rec the less accessible option.

Me too; hard to find ones for smaller hands that don’t lock my joints.
