There is a bill in the Legislature to gut Missouri's ballot initiative process. Labor has used the ballot question process to repeal RTW, expand healthcare, raise the min. wage, and more.
Our Pres., Jake Hummel, went to the Capitol yesterday to tell politicians to get their HANDS OFF OUR RIGHTS!

In 2025, Republicans gave these millionaires ANOTHER tax cut while taking away healthcare from working families, including more than 250,000 people right here in Missouri.

President Trump gutted the public services Missouri families rely so that he could give CEOs another $489,000 EACH.

Meanwhile, the average CEO got a $1.24 million RAISE last year while working families struggled to make ends meet.

The Republicans’ Budget could be
'devastating' for Missouri Medicaid patients, rural hospitals

According to the Congressional Budget Office, [this bill] could cause nearly 9 million Americans to lose health care coverage. That includes approximately 130,000-160,000 in Missouri…

The Republicans’ budget would enact the largest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in American history, increase gas and electricity prices, and add trillions of dollars to the national debt. Learn more and tell Missouri’s Congressional Delegation to VOTE NO!

On #Juneteenth, Freedom Day, America’s unions celebrate and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

We’ll continue organizing in the streets and in the halls of power to fight for civil rights and economic justice for all workers.

Good paying union jobs in Missouri are at risk of elimination if Congress repeals American-made energy tax credits. That’s why IBEW members are fighting this legislation that will kill energy jobs, hike electricity costs, and endanger grid reliability.

After 20+ years of Republicans controlling the Legislature and fighting against healthcare access every step of the way, now less than half of Missouri’s rural hospitals have labor and delivery departments. #moleg

Missouri’s congressional delegation is close to passing a bill that would take healthcare away from 16 million Americans, make the largest cut to food assistance in American history, and explode our national deficit—all to give more tax breaks to billionaires like Elon Musk.

Missouri’s Senators need to listen to the people! a majority of Americans are opposed to Trump’s budget b/c it will add $2.4 trillion to the deficit, give a tax break to wealthy people and corporations, and slash Medicaid.
June 13, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Right now, Missouri’s Senators in Washington DC are considering a budget that would make the largest cuts in history to Medicaid and make more cuts to retirement benefits for federal workers. Call Senators Hawley & Schmitt and tell them NO CUTS THAT HURT WORKING FAMILIES. #mosen

Stop the DOGE SCAM!

“The labor movement won’t rest until DOGE is fully gone and every harm it has caused to federal workers, essential government programs and the people who rely on them is reversed.” - AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler
June 3, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Veterans are a large part of our union family. One-third of the federal workforce is composed of veterans. After serving their country, every veteran deserves to come home to a union job & reliable benefits. But DOGE is threatening to break America’s promise to those who served.

In Missouri, the majority of Medicaid recipients are in rural counties.
Enrollees include almost 1.4 million children, working families, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with disabilities. The Republican plan to cut Medicaid will hurt Missourians who need it most.
