The recent Target sale was a good one for fans of Drew McWeeny commentaries. Picked up both Abigail and The Wolfman (2010).

I was a 13-year old kid living in a tiny town in northern MN that fall. I’ve always been wary of looking back at that series with rose colored glasses as a result, but if David Simon agrees that it was the greatest, then who am I to argue?

Priest was at FanExpo Denver here a month or so ago and I had the privilege of chatting with him for a decent little while. There’s really no question that the MCU Wakanda is his Wakanda, and he should really be set for life, not talking to a schmuck like me at a con.

I’ll never forget picking up the old Olympian TPB copy of Cursed Pirate Girl from the shelf at the Union Square Forbidden Planet and being blown away by it. Turns out, once in a while you CAN judge a book by its cover. Happy birthday to Mr. Bastian!

I don’t know if “Sex Education” counts as an American show or a British show (or somehow both?), but that feels to me like the most recent semi-equivalent. Also just a great show in its own right.

I submit that no one in the history of rock and roll has had a better scream than Kim Shattuck. There might could be some people who could qualify as an equal, but none better. I miss her.
