Every American has to ask of themselves whether they support the imprisonment of children?

Do they believe in #humanrights?

Do they support family separation?

Do they feel safer by imprisoning children?

Do they support sadism as part of American migration policy?

Does the imprisonment of […]

To the surprise of no one, Trump’s approval rating on #immigration is plummeting.

Apparently murdering citizens on the steeet in #minneapolis is unpopular. Lying about it when there is damning video evidence to the contrary is also abhorred.

Americans are waking up to Trump sponsored […]

This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.

Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.

Well, here’s a link:

On this day in America, when a barrage of fact free messaging is funneled through Sunday morning news shows, this #hannaharendt truism seems appropriate

While placing promulgated lies on record is an important #newsmedia function, taking an unflinching editorial […]

My #podcast trip to #Leitrim was short

I’m looking forward to heading back to the country and spend time there in a more leisurely fashion

The best piece of #journalism I’ve read this year.

The story captures the difficulties of the middle class experience across America and other western democracies.

For those that care to look, many folks are teetering on the edge of profound economic shift in their lives. Others have fallen in […]

1) The big question for any #irish or #eu political party is why any of them are still on #x ?

Why would any political party opposed to #billionaire capture of #socialmedia platforms post anywhere other than a decentralized platform?

The toxic #siliconvalley stack can be escaped. #mastodon is […]

Interesting survey on the Irish public’s understanding of immigration and it’s scale in 🇮🇪

It would be interesting to align this data with #socialmedia usage vs traditional #newsmedia in an attempt to understand whether that is the cause of distorting thinking. I obviously have my suspicions 😜 […]

So are we now greenlighting the execution of citizens for disrespect of law enforcement officials?

Is extrajudicial killing the new law if the land? Are courts, judges and juries irrelevant? Is the law of the land to be administered by whim or because somebody’s feelings got hurt?

There have been two killings in the case of #reneegood.

The first was her extra judicial killing on the streets of #minneapolis

The second was the smearing of her reputation. Her family and those who loved her will have to deal with her being called a terrorist rather than a poet.

This is really helpful for the American tourist trade 👇

Some 66 million people visited America in 2023. How many will now opt to go elsewhere? Initial reports indicate a drop of 5-10% in 2025.

Let’s say a visitor spends 2-3k and 4-5 million less come per year, that’s a decline of 8-15 billion […]
