Imagine being someone dumb enough to think the place with the “Learing Center” sign was a real daycare
December 31, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Imagine being so stupid you think those guys are daycare workers
December 30, 2025 at 11:20 PM
“Daycare workers”

If these were professional child care spaces with children it would indeed be difficult

What kids

Oh he should drop out. It wouldn’t be a good 3rd term even if he squeaked by the worst R candidate

USA made wild ass guess grossly in excess of convictions amount. He was wrong to do it in that role. Walz & Meitridt Strib piece want to set the convictions total as the upper boundary of discussion. Nobles is just saying of course it’s more than that. He’s right, you know he’s right about that.
December 30, 2025 at 4:56 AM
Sure, but Walz’ engagement over years suggests he doesn’t have much basis of knowledge to push back with, and the other people are credible. And that’s what this is, an exercise in who ya gonna believe. PS: Walz will drop out.

Guy was completely responsible in his answer on Al Shabob, which is a decent signal for his overall temperament. Like why didn’t he go all rw maga on that, but then we’re to think his estimate is political? I understand he was an Obama hiree.
December 30, 2025 at 3:00 AM
I’m a claims data analyst, I have a reasonable guess what the data is and what the attributes they notice are. And I watched the presser end to end where he was goaded into an answer. Everyone else just reads the newspaper and completely misreads the context.
December 30, 2025 at 2:53 AM
I think US AG should have resisted that q one more time, but it wasn’t answered in a political manner. I figure he’s got a spreadsheet of payments since 2019 & it looks like half of its bogus, so that was his answer. A year ago Walz was incredulous there was such a thing as a fake autism enrollment.
December 30, 2025 at 2:40 AM
You might be 2/3'ds right, but re the media in this state and nationally we've been living in the piss on my head and tell me its raining false reality of Tim Walz' competence for a good 7 years. If this is what it takes to correct that record, its all good.
December 29, 2025 at 2:35 AM
They rightfully care about this. Mass welfare fraud discredits the tax social safety net.
December 27, 2025 at 6:37 PM
He shot down the Al Shabob angle too. He’s at least as measured as he should be.
December 19, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Thompson doesn't *smell* political as much as Harpstead saying fraud is mostly rumors or Walz saying no one would lie about their child having autism for kickbacks. Or Meitrodt's "push back" a week ago in trying to workshop a less damaging cumulative.
December 19, 2025 at 10:34 AM
After about the 5th run at him he says, essentially, the data set contemplated is $18B in payments since 2019, and that he (Thompson) uses "significant" as a gut / feel for 50% of that. There's where the $9B number comes from.
December 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM
I'm going to paraphrase this for the obvious context apparent that could be taken from watching the presser. Journos from several orgs nagged him for a number. He wouldn't give one, said his office prosecutes, does not do stat analysis / quality analysis of fed programs.
December 19, 2025 at 10:29 AM
Writing problem. It's Thompson's quote.
December 19, 2025 at 10:15 AM
It's the Strib writing. In the presser several journos nagged Thompson to do scale analysis, give a #. He was hesitant, said that's not what his office does.. But ultimately there were a couple quotes colored by disclaimatory. That's one of those quotes. It's a little misused by the Strib there.

You’re doing it wrong then. They always send me my rebates.
