Love that movie, and Carol Kane. Have you seen the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Just as silly, and I forgot about binging that a couple months ago and really enjoying it.

You’ve forced me to think about what’s making me laugh these days, and I think it’s the silliness of improv comedy in the Paul F Tompkins vein (not the “Who’s Line is it Anyway-pretend you’re a monkey on a bike stuff”, but full narratives). Have you ever heard the podcast, Spontaneanation?

I don’t doubt that! When I was 13 my parents took us to see Sugar Daddies at the Lyric(?), which I barely remember, but I was transfixed by the lights, set, and the energy of the actors.

I only ever saw it on TV, so that could be the difference, but I doubt it because it had to compete with my boyhood infatuations with cars, spaceships, and lasers. I had/have an underdeveloped appreciation for fine arts that I didn’t realize until my late college Archaeology class.

Neither was I, but I ran out of series to binge, and the wounds had started to heal from the annoying Target ads, so I decided to try it in May or June. I think I was ambivalent about the original as a child, scared of the flying monkeys, but appreciating the lesson about the wizard.

The problem with electric semis isn’t efficiency or battery recycling or other tinfoil hat crap. It’s the weight of the batteries impacting the max payload. 80,000 lbs is the DOT max, so 10,000 lbs of batteries could create the need for a second shipment, erasing efficiency gains.

If I were the judge I would immediately summarily dismiss out of my own outrage, but that’s probably just one of the many reasons I am not qualified to be a judge (others include having no contact with the legal profession).
