I only say this based on how many environments I've been in with a metric butt-ton of DCs running DNS, but rebooting one that's also a primary DNS server for a client resulted in that client shitting the bed. I've moved to sending DNS over a hardware load-balancer where possible to help.

Caveat being Windows DNS Resolver. Only uses Primary unless it doesn't respond. Will then try secondary and keep using it until it stops responding or ServerPriorityTimeLimit passes (15 mins default). Problem is the "non-responsive" timeout can be big enough to tank a connection anyhow.

Stuck in a meeting so I can't watch the webcast, but presumably if one were to do a keynote drinking game where anytime the words "agentic" or "AI" were said you'd do a shot - you'd likely have already died of alcohol poisoning lol

Was interested in the Hyper-V breakout, but it's in-person only and I have 0 interest in going to the US for basically anything as a Canadian right now :(

Once upon a time I would have pondered whether rms actually realized how big of a meme he became at that moment... but given how completely aloof and out of touch he is, I'm not sure he realizes it even to this day... 🤣

Not that anyone would actually reply as such, but I know that the spec itself doesn't have any tie to specific formats, but experience says that no one beyond VMWare has any kind of reasonable OVF/OVA support, so vendors tend to package things in a way that make it impossible to use elsewhere

First thing I noticed when auditing AD at the org I'm with today was their custom extensions and I just about noped out the door lol. I'm not looking forward to the day I start "modernizing" things here

Pre-Win2k is just the first in a long line of "dark corners" in AD, where looking at it funny, touching it wrong, or farting in the room next door will cause bad things to happen.

It definitely doesn't like using AD credentials to log into vCenter... Sat for 5 minutes watching the spinning dots before I clued in that it likely failed (I might be a little slow today). Surprised it didn't bomb out with an error or timeout message or something though...

Also - It seems that a ton of folks think WAC is basically DoA... github.com/microsoft/wi... hasn't seen a tangible update in 6 years, yet it's still referenced on WAC documentation for Extension Developers learn.microsoft.com/en-ca/window... - Tons of issues left unanswered and frustrated people.

How do you market a feature like MCP Servers, and Copilot specific instruction files when the LLM will just... ignore them? If it can't/won't remember to reference the instructions on every interaction like it's supposed to, it sure as hell won't remember to use the MCP Servers.
