Sometimes when I’m sad about Edna and Eizen I think about this moment where Edna teases Mikleo and then get even more sad. It just makes me imagine all the attempts she made to get Eizen to recognize her always ending up in failure. I should replay Zestiria to see her happier moments again.

Do I own Zestiria on steam already? Yes. Does Zestiria run better on any console thats not the ps3? Probably. But I bought the ps3 copy (in used condition), wahoo!!!!! Gonna replay it with a buddy in a few weeks when we finish up dotnw!!!

And the number one motivation I had for this AU: I thought it'd be real funny if the solution for stopping Eizen from staying a dragon would be to eat the dragon bits off.

When it comes to how Chimera Falin is defeated, I don't think Eizen would be capable of hurting his sister this way, and in Zestiria, Edna has to wrangle Eizen to stop him from hurting others so it suits her to defeat him (though I think she'd find a way to strangle him without the manhandling)

Of course Eizen would be eaten by the dragon in this au, then brought back to life, and I can see this manga panel with Edna being Laios and Eizen being Falin. Edna would totally lecture and bully Eizen about getting eaten (at least in my opinion)

I think the past would still play out similarly with Eizen leaving Edna by herself when she was young, since Laios does the same with Falin. However, this time around, Eizen would eventually reunite with Edna and take her with him along his travels and eventually to dungeons.

For the sake of character consistency I'm having it be inspired specifically by the role swap scenario where Falin had to save Laios, with a bit of the main story mixed in. For this AU, I think Eizen would talk to his sister a lot about monsters and she would remember most of it (to her chagrin)
