This one is also very slow burn, more romance than the first book but it still takes a while to make it official. Since they three are together throughout the book, you get a great look at their relationship developing.

This is a different vampire story. The vampire MC cannot just control himself because he loves the human MC like most stories. Vampires are inherently chaotic creatures at a base level.

So I'll just reframe my thoughts going in, not looking for a romance but an unraveling plot. I mean I still love Ariana Nash, maybe in spite of the frustrating slow burns 😅.

But I was wrong 😂, it's still an Ariana Nash book, they still get pulled apart every other chapter, just a faster pace than a whole series with one couple.

I wasn't terribly looking forward to a book about Eric since he was such an insufferable side character previously. But even insufferable guys have something going on to make them so I guess.......meaning he has a been a totally fine well rounded MC in this book.

I haven't read an MC with psychopathy before, but I think it's really well done. He's a normal person who thinks different. Out of curiosity I delved into some reddit threads to get real life perspectives and it backed up how Wolfe is portrayed.
