Retired public school SLP. Be inclusive and imagine a better world. We don’t have to accept cruelty in leadership or policy…ever. Ohio U. (B.S.) and Ohio State (M.A.) grad from long ago. 🚫DM’s, finance or charity solicitation please.
Will someone explain to me how these two statements are not completely contradictory? Sounds like double speak to me…people trying to have their cake and eat it too. (unlocked article)

No more religious protections either.

And these people are in charge. 🤦‍♀️

We’ve known for months this is horrible, but nothing has changed as far as I can tell. If anything, they keep escalating to meet some arbitrary quota. These people are just numbers to them.

What’s it gonna take to end this?

This is the result of fear…as he intends.

This has so got to change. It’s a form of acceptance that we can’t keep allowing.

Never again!

Beware of false leadership.

We really need to distinguish between “water and sand” before we drink.

I haven’t seen that decision (And a google search didn’t provide much help) other than to indicate a legal challenge is probably going to occur.

But, a legal challenge now is kinda like closing the barn door after the horse escapes imo.

This is far from over.

We can’t afford to slide back into silence until all prisoners are released. Especially those who have been held for years under the conditions described in this article. (Unlocked article)

I have a feeling that the only way we’re gonna solve this is if we willingly give up some of our so-called “freedom.”

A number of experts weigh in on what Trump is doing and why. There are a number of compelling expert opinions for the “he’s staging it to provoke violence” argument.

If Trump is allowed to declare martial law, elections could become optional. (Gift article)

“WTF does this even mean?” said every communication specialist I ever worked with.

Who does he think he’s communicating to?

“The MAGA movement is not a debating society” by Jamelle Bouie.

This quote by Lincoln pretty much says it all.

I think it should be pointed out that 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩. 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬…maybe ever. The latest is simply part of a pattern they established in 2024.

Old, liberal boomers are right there with ‘em.👀

I’m already seeing questionable posts about an immigration “raid” at Hyundai in Georgia. This article (by the WSJ…I know) explains that DHS may have actually done things the right way. I’m trying not to judge until more details are known from more sources.

A warning:

(Trump was basically handed a license to kill by the Supreme Court. Shame on them for lacking the ability to imagine Trump taking that gift to its inevitable conclusion).

This Cicero quote from Jamelle Bouie’s newsletter resonated with me. A couple thousand years old, but still relevant.

What’s up with @ohiostatefb.bsky.social not posting on Bluesky?

I had to pull this pic off a competitive service.

In fact, I’m not seeing much college football coverage at all here. Am I missing something?
