👍 Mark calendar to switch back before online registration deadline (Maybe 15 days before election?) to be sure you can vote among all candidates in primary. Call Registrar of Voters or Sec of State, or check websites, to confirm timing. Can be done up to & on Election Day but must be in person.

You know, I don’t believe we’re disagreeing. I *think* you’re saying what is stated here on the Calif Sec of St site:

I certainly am *not* trying to make or manipulate people into signing up for a party. I gave my understanding of our rules here in California as stated on the Calif Secretary of State website. And for the past two or more decades, I have not received a primary ballot if I am registered NPP.

Correction, it’s No Party Preference, not No Party Affiliation.

Please read the California Secretary of State link I posted. It explains the circumstances when someone registered No Party Preference can vote in a presidential primary. This is why I said “almost always….”
