This bad boy was trying to limbo under the wire. The weather was misty and it was one of those mornings where it is best to stay inside. There is no honey but plenty of honeybee larvae. A true learning experience.

They bent a fencepost.

My wife and I cooked town crab apples. Then I made apple sauce. Some we keep as apple sauce. Fruit leather was the big product this year along with jelly.

First is one of the bags of crab apples. 2nd and 3rd pictures are fruit leather and the last one is the jelly.

Now it's time for Lynx! These are from my driveway.

Here is another bull moose. He has the skinniest palms ever! His antlers look more like a deer than a moose!

Lots of folks like to see moose. Same park as the bears. Still in Anchorage, Alaska.

Momma bear visiting the house while the cubs are doing laps around my bee yard.

These bears visited the house and my bee yard. The electric fence paid for itself once again. That's another story.

These jokers were playing King of the Hill on my archery target after they knocked it down.

Here is a brown bear with her cubs. This is in the Anchorage city limits in a public park.

Since the news isn't so good, I will post up a picture of wildlife that I captured on a trail cam here in my town, Anchorage, Alaska. This is a brown bear sow and her 2 cubs about 10 days ago.

Yes, we get regularly bears and more at the house.

Took a break from catching swarms and went fishing. The fish are in, the weather was great and here is the result of fishing with Marty Weiser and Kenai Fishing Adventures.

Tomorrow will be salmon stir fry at my house.

I received another call for a swarm on 7/9/25 in the afternoon. This one was smaller than the first swarm and about the size of a package of bees, around 3 to 4 pounds. This is my 11th swarm for the year.

Bee butts in the air release pheromones to attract other bees.

Helping out a fellow bee keeper by catching a swarm on the morning of 7/9/25 in Anchorage Alaska.

Usurpation. Bees moved in and displaced a weak colony.

Another twist to bee keeping during our short season in Alaska.

Today the bee swarms popped. I had one swarm mostly under control and got another call for a different swarm about 2 miles away. Started on that one and got a call for a third swarm in Eagle River, about 15 miles from Anchorage. I turned that one down.

Went back and finished them both.

It's a great way to catch and transport them. By the time I get home, most are in the bucket. I can get supper, go back out and they are all in.
