Never forget the sleazy campaign that Cuomo ran, backed by Michael Bloomberg, Rupert Murdoch, and many other billionaires who were wiling to say anything and do anything to keep income inequality intact.

The "Ben Shahn: On Nonconformity" show at the Jewish Museum in New York is just fabulous. His political stances, are still so timely. He's speaking to us loud and clear!

"The Blond Boy from the Casbah" is a wonderful film playing at the New Plaza Cinema in NYC. The story of a Jewish boy growing up in Algiers during the Algerian war for independence from France. Beautiful acting, writing and cinematography. By French-Algerian director Alexandre Arcady.

Joe Gould was sketched into the New York story by Joseph Mitchell at "The New Yorker," but he was anchored forever in the harbor, like a rusty tanker, by Alice Neel. www.newyorker.com/magazine/tak...?

"Reds" by Warren Beatty, was released in 1981 and I hadn't seen it since. But I saw it today at the New Plaza Cinema. Did it stand the test of time? Without a doubt. A great script, and great cast: Diane Keaton, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Maureen Stapleton & Gene Hackman. What a triumph!

Throughout my life. and until a year ago, Riverside Church was the tallest building in Morningside Heights, a landmark you could see for miles. Now it's been upstaged by the taller and quite hideous luxury housing of Claremont Hall. I choose to leave that monstrosity out of my photos!

A painting you wouldn't have seen in a Cubism room 30 years ago: "The Woman-Horse" by Marie Laurencin, 1918. "Cubism has poisoned three years of my life, preventing me from doing any work. As long as I was influenced by the great men surrounding me, I could do nothing," recalled Laurencin in 1923.

One thing I love about MoMA's rehanging of their historical collection is the international emphasis. Like including Diego Rivera in the Cubism room. Here's "Young Man in a Gray Sweater (Jacques Lipchitz) 1914, by Diego Rivera.

Is another "soft site" on the Upper West Side about to fall to luxury housing? Silver Moon and all but two of the other tenants in this building on Broadway between 105th and 106th street have moved out. Does anyone smell a rat?

The Silver Moon is back! It's still on Broadway, but further downtown, between 102nd and 101st Street. Judith could be seen, wandering around in her usual gray t-shirt, checking on details. Welcome home, dear bakery!
