I've only fully realized how much this scene has grown when I looked at an old screenshot (2/19). Quite a lot that's present in the scene I did not know how to do 6 months ago.

The doubts will never go away but taking time to look back sure shuts them up for a second. :)

Raycast, ModelViewer, a RadioToggle and Controller scripts are all working... mostly. "Fire2" to drop an item suddenly isn't "Firing2" so... I'll fix that at some point. Happy that most of my code is working though.

Anyway, back to the depths...

Let there be light!

Added baked lighting and a reflection probe to the scene. Redid the sconces to something simpler bc the old ones were a UV nightmare.

For now though, changing my focus to adding raycasting to the main camera, a model viewer, and a UI overlay in C#.

Added more detail to this guy today. Aiming to polish my best pieces to begin creating a portfolio on #artstation soon.

In other news, I've added lighting and scripted more code for the main project. No photos of that yet but it's looking SO much better already.

Coming from a non-artistic background, the notion of a portfolio review sounds a bit daunting but I know it'll be fine. I look forward to the constructive criticism and how I'll implement it over the summer 😊

My boss asked how I felt about it so far. I said I liked it. "It's starting to look more like a room... a room without shaders, but still a room!"
Wrote a player controller script and importing the remaining assets. Then doing a second pass on textures

Couple more assets for ya :) Making good headway on my portfolio project. Atm, I want everything textured and thrown into a Unity project to see how it looks, but I'll go back through some of the assets to nitpick a little more as things progress

Knocked out a few of my models this week in #substancepainter. Started with two simple and two complex to learn the basics. I'll be doing another pass on everything as I learn but so far it hasn't been as scary as I thought lol Only 50+ more to go... 🫠

More to add for the scene to look more lived-in but all of the big stuff is out of the way with. Now on to texturing... I purposefully didn't UV unwrap as I went so that I could get better at it but something tells me I might soon regret that... Oh well 😅 #blender #graphicdesign #Pt #unity

Still new to Blender but I thought I'd post an update:
I went with something familiar for my portfolio and decided on recreating my old studio before I moved to WY.
More assets to come but I think I'll truly be excited about it when I start unwrapping and adding textures. So far so good though.

Dunno if there are any McElroy fans out here quite yet but I picked up a game I hadn't played in a while and created this ✨️ DIVA ✨️ of a Monster Factory. Dragons Dogma's character creator is really something. Not sure what to name them though...
