I was thinking of not sharing this because it's not a direct redraw, but the vibe is similar enough that it's fun to compare the two... Skills acquired™️ perhaps!! Caraway also got much more meat on him through the years, but he's also still a pup in this one hehe.

Iiii really wanted to find an art of Ashen for this, but all rendered works of him go way too far for my comfort asdfafsf. Glad my wing skills have at least gotten way better, even if the proof of that isn't present in this!!!!!!!

"Like you'd ever know how it feels like." Lella's muttering was directed at Ashen, yet his tired gaze stayed glued on the other cat. Still sleeping soundly, without a single worry on his happily snoozing face. The jackal's brow furrowed deeper. "Loving someone for what, 20 years? Knowing very well he'll never love yer sorry ass back." Another gulp from the can quenched the itch in his throat, yet the hoarseness in his voice didn't disappear. If anything, his words turned more hollow. More quiet. "And yet yer just… Unable to let go. Ya keep on pathetically clinging onto those crumbs of affection like a fucking idiot. It'll never fulfill yer needs, but it's all yer ever gonna get. Some momentary happiness to help ya ignore the pain of reality." The same pain that had now spread hurt all over Lella's face — past the though walls, past the usual overflowing confidence Ashen was used to. Guess there was a certain type of confidence in showing that hurt, too. Or more likely it was merely the result of the chaotic pile of empty cans on the coffee table, growing taller by one more can as the jackal balanced it on top of another.
