women having 50% of everything is men's worst nightmare. Then if you carve up that chunk even more for minorities... men have been talking about themselves for 1000s of years and honestly don't understand they have nothing left to say. (not that I read the article since I can't read anymore 😹)

I’m 570 pages in on my first read, and I’ve been thinking a lot about this, particularly her place among the men that dominate the “great American novel” discussion.

How on Earth is this not thrown in the mix with as much frequency?

Lied one more 😹 you'd think this would be an English profs wet dream of a book. I can only imagine teaching a class about it. Like I would. I'm closer to being ready to but still might need a couple more read throughs 😹😹😹

One more post 😹 and the more I re-read it the more I am moved to the point where I feel like Jodi Foster in Contact with the famous line - they should have sent a poet. And that's what Young did. Use prose poetry to discuss life, the universe and everything.
