One guy detained at Augusta, Maine, No Kings. MAGA, natch. Article (Portland Press Herald) doesn’t say, but he goes by Corn Pop. Last week he stripped to underpants at Augusta School Board to protest trans inclusion. 2000+ turned out in our little city BTW. @jefftiedrich.bsky.social

It’s weird @msnbc.com talkers keep referring to the fact they’re “covering” No Kings protests, but they’re not, except occasional, brief visuals with no info. The vibe is everyone but Jen Psaki not think they’re important & only mentioning them because they have to. I get LA is nuts, but come on!

Glad to hear @jenpsaki.msnbc.com say “millions” at No Kings after hearing all afternoon on MSNBC it’s “tens of thousands.” We got 2k-3k in Augusta, Maine, (pop. 19,000), so obviously more than “tens of thousands” nationally.

A reader told me that people read my books for the story, “so it doesn’t matter what the writing is like.” Um. Thanks?

Since Chicago’s Police Department agreed to court oversight in 2019, it has complied with just 9% of requirements.

Barring dramatic improvement, the city will have no choice but to add hundreds of millions of dollars to its budgets in years to come.

In Five Years, Chicago Has Barely Made Progress on Its Court-Ordered Police Reforms. Here’s Why.
