I think at that kind of price point darn tough may work better? Expensive, but the no questions asked lifetime warranty is nice and even without my current set of socks from them have lasted over 5 years

The only way I could see this being an actual issue is if a landlord locked a tenant out of the thermostat. In that case I think it's considered "centrally controlled" and even then its on the landlord and not Google.

Could the previous owners set it to that themselves? I did the same when we had a nest and now with the ecobee (set to 64 in the bedroom at night).

Heat ordinance only applies to landlords. You can turn off the automatic scheduling and set your own schedule

I don't live in a house? I live in a condo with no attic and no access to the wiring. On top of a service upgrade from 100 to 200A which runs for about 5-6k here I'd have to then poke holes in my walls and ceiling to run the new wire.
If I ever decide to gut the place I'd definitely consider it

It's a drop in replacement for people who are switching from gas to induction. I don't have to worry about possibly running new wire or a panel upgrade, I can just install a battery stove and it'll run off the existing outlet.

CDs are kind of the perfect in-between for vinyl and streaming. They're physical media and CD quality is generally very high but they're not as bulky as vinyl
