I only read one non-fiction book in 2024, but it was great so I'm happy about it. Here's my review for The Anatomy Murders by Lisa Rosner:
🩸 A history lesson disguised as a true-crime book.
🩸 Explores a scandalous string of murders that took place in Edinburgh in the early 1800s.

Down Among the Stick and Bones by @seananmcguire.bsky.social
🩸 Second book in the Wayward Children series, and it made me want more!
🩸 Reads like a dark fairytale… a fantastical and gloomy tale about a pair of twins growing up in different directions.

I started a Substack, and my first post is now live! I'll be sharing some of my writing as well as random thoughts on books, movies and the usual spooky stuff 🥀

Just watched the first episode of the #Chucky TV series... it was so fun and very faithful to the franchise! Excited to see where the rest of the season goes 🔪🩸

Christmas at Wheeldale Inn by Gemma Amor @manylittlewords.bsky.social was a perfect seasonal read!
🔔 An atmospheric ghost story in the Victorian tradition that will chill you to the bone.
🔔 A tale of misfortune that morphs into a powerful good-for-her story with a supernatural twist.

I wasn't sure I'd enjoy a historical fantasy horror, but Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark @pdjeliclark.bsky.social was a big hit for me!
🗡 Centred around the fight against a Ku Klux Klan re-imagined as literal monsters.

Went a little out of my comfort zone with this one, and I loved it!

I just finished my first rewatch of Mike Flanagan's @mikeflanaganfilm.com Midnight Mass. It was somehow more devastating than the first time. This show speaks to my soul and my deepest fears... obsessed is an understatement 🔥🖤

People say being an adult sucks but I actually think it's worth it, just for the fact that you can make a cake and eat it whenever you want.
