Hamnet is seriously flawed film. Otherwise reasonable rankings.

Same here! . . . (Now I'm just waiting for Sirat to play at BAM. Then I can complete & transmit my Best of 2025 List.)

I was FLOORED by Mascha Schilinski's film Sound of Falling! For me one of the VERY BEST of 2025!

Cool!

Overall I found it just so-so. I'm ALWAYS impressed by Laura Dern. Both of Cooper's earlier films are well worth a look IMO.

"The Lord and Master" himself!

Remember it as successful for a final work — Jacqueline Bisset very goo!

Jo Stafford has a truly beautiful voice! 🥰

GREAT! -- The Exterminating Angel (1963) & Simon of the Desert (1965) also TERRIFIC!

I can report that bus service in Brooklyn is pretty CRAPPY also!
January 15, 2026 at 11:45 PM
I can guarantee BROOKLYN is also anxious to see this!!

Magnificent film!

I love the scene in Hitchcock's The Birds where Tippi Hedren serves tea to bedridden (& mentally shaken) Jessica Tandy despite the latter's previous (low-key) antagonism toward her.

Typically my list is over 20 films -- I really don't see this as "out of control" - just recognizing merit & pleasure wherever I found it! I thought 2025 had a lot of good films.

I remember first time we see her face in King Kong. Filmmaker Robert Armstrong spots her while she's trying to steal an apple from a street vendor. He's stunned by her face (us too! 😀)

I calculate that as a kid I saw King Kong (censor-cut for TV) over 30 times!
January 9, 2026 at 10:32 PM
It's pretty much the last film I have to see before I finalize my Best-of-2025 list (which currently extends to 27 films).

To me she's gorgeous either way! (She's brunette in her von Sternberg film - which I saw AGES ago!)
January 9, 2026 at 10:21 PM
Is she sailing back to Kong Island?
January 8, 2026 at 11:39 PM
Thanks for giving me an interest in seeing this film!
January 7, 2026 at 11:34 PM
Gotta disagree on this one Dana! I found Marty Supreme a BLAST (except for that "happy ending")!
January 7, 2026 at 11:27 PM
Thanks. I should spend more time on him.
