The right managers need that. Agree time is important but its only if there's a suggestion somewhere that there's a strategy/idea of how to play (poch 2014). Just cant see that with Frank so in my view gotta start again.

If you think those players come in and we're suddenly top eight, that's fair. I don't. We clearly dont know how to create chances.

This isnt about squad not being good enough. Not if last year's finish was a stackable offence - we are in that level of form right now.

I'm surprised the xG there was that low - I don't know if counted some of those dangerous moments we had that didn't materialise into chances (Udogie cross etc.).. thought it was an encouraging performance, if not inspired!

How much do you think better wingers makes our midfield look a bit more functional? Genuinely felt bad for biss & bentancur today because any outball was an immediate turnover

Have said this before but think our wingers are majority of the problem here... If there's no outball, midfield looks bad, when midfield can't hold ball, defence looks bad. Front 3 needs so much succession planning

This is a mad take. Form suggests we're in a death spiral - but dude we've seen the mid-season sack/caretaker roll-out enough now in recent memory to know this is often way worse than what came before. Who's the hire/replacement that makes things better?

Surely the lesson in that for us was - if we want success with Ange, we need led a bigger, deeper squad...

Be careful what you wish for here - yes we are in terrible, terrible form - but we've seen the stellini/mason/whoever midseason sacking and it's inevitably been worse than what was before... Squad is the same whoever comes in and they are all knackered & broken

Isn't this the crucial point of the piece? "Tottenham could have had Díaz in 2022. Tottenham could have assembled a proper backroom structure years ago" - feels like you're pinning a lot of this piece on the manager (sorry, mate) and ignoring ALL the context of poor squad building & recruitment

Not the subs themselves but the timing of them - was clear Lolo was wilting and they were all over him when they got their first... Game needed Biss much earlier to start picking up from CBs but driving through their front press

Agreed and don't think we should be writing anyone off after cumulatively about 100 mins of actual playing time - Davies almost had the same... Think they've done their homework and are really on our CBs when they receive from midfield
