Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall gets all the stars from me, just the most beautiful historical fiction that will make you cry, plus the wildest twists.

My first 5⭐️ horror read of the year! Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng is the dark, gruesome, and powerful story of a woman who cleans crime scenes at the beginning of the pandemic.

I am loving this horror novel with Vietnamese mythology and monsters that may swim beneath us or live within us. It’s written beautifully; I’ve been highlighting like a maniac while devouring it.

I’m loving today’s flight read so far: it’s a raw and gritty coming-of-age story of three young girls in nineties Yorkshire, England.

What if an heiress you didn’t know was murdered, and shockingly left her generational wealth to you? What if you had no alibi for the night she died?
Thank you to @readlandmark.bsky.social for this juicy locked room mystery with so many twists!

This one scared me, and even more unsettling was knowing that the author wrote this sci fi horror set at the South Pole WHILE he was at the South Pole. 😱

All Better Now by Neal Shusterman would make for great book club discussion: a virus leaves those that survive it completely happy, no longer wanting to consume or caring how others view them.

Realm of Ice and Sky by Buddy Levy is sending me down so many rabbit holes, learning about the adventurous men who risked their lives or died while trying to reach the North Pole via airship.

I was blown away by this historical fiction based on the real-life 1500s French noblewoman who survived years alone after being abandoned on an uninhabited island. Thank you to @thedialpress.bsky.social for the ARC of Isola by Allegra Goodman!

I’m walking all over Madrid today! You may ring this convent door to buy cookies from the cloistered nuns. You may talk to them but no visuals; once they enter the convent they never see outside humans again.
