Yeah I thought she was hot in Labyrinth when I first watched it and I was eight years younger than her. Not the experience I have when I rewatch it, or any adult would ever have watching it as an adult.

Sounds like a great book project. During the lockdown I was part of a collective that wrote a book called "On Necrocapitalism" that was likely driven by the same concerns.

No I don't think I ever discussed it with you. I'd half-forgotten about it since it's from 2016/2017 I think? Definitely an abandoned project from the before times.

Since I wrote the initial draft the author has of course produced more work, some of it more major than what I focused on in that draft, and now I wonder whether I should return to it, update it, or if it is even worth releasing in some way. (Let alone finding a publisher.)

As always, love your books. I was a little sad after the Jade Daniels trilogy (which I loved like my review for Strange Horizons proclaimed haha) was over, but you outdid my expectations with this one. Best vampire novel I've read in a long time.

If I wrote a full review I'd talk more about his spin on the vampire mythology, how it functions within a narrative about settler-colonialism, which would require a massive amount of spoilers––as all thorough reviews do!
