I am a fan of letting Keldon grow into that 6th man role on this team. His production and his 3-point shot are inconsistent, but he consistently brings the energy and an intention to compete every game. Given his team-friendly contract, I'd keep him unless you can get someone better than DFS.

I like the Collins option, especially if they would take 2 later 2nd round picks. We have a ton of them, so the would probably work. Any rumors of our interest in DFS?

Could the Spurs conceivably pick up DFS from the Nets? I heard that he is being shopped.

..and what a return he made! Sochan is the 2nd most important Spurs player. Not the most talented, because Devin is definitely more talented, but he plays the best and most consistently off of Wemby right now.

Point Sochan Experiment is already paying huge dividends with his more confident play.

What do you think Kerr can do? This guy is not going to change and the front office probably can't move him for his true value, so you are stuck with the good and the bad for the foreseeable future. He is a singular talent with singular downsides.

Can this team bench him and expect to win?

Do you think that Sidy will get a chance to play other-than-garbage-minutes this year?
December 27, 2024 at 7:08 PM
Paul - do you have any data about the pace of play this year vs. last couple of years? It feels like we are playing slower than we once did.
December 27, 2024 at 7:07 PM
Admittedly, I don't have the data about how much faster we played last couple of years vs. this year, but it certainly seems that the Chris Paul era features slower pace of play. Is that right?

If so, speeding up play would let Wemby could keep shooting AND have shots for Robin (whoever that is).
December 27, 2024 at 7:05 PM
Do you think that the Wemby effect would be even greater if we sped up our play and Wemby took maybe 5-7 fewer shots per game? He is a willing passer, but it is really difficult for a true Robin (other than Sochan) to develop if there aren't enough shots available.

We may have won this game if we had had at least a few minutes of Sandro's ceaseless scrambling and hustling for boards. He just makes the game easier for the people around him.

Do you think he will play in future, especially with chatter about possibly picking up Valanciunas and Looney?

Proof point #1 -- the doom and gloom regarding viewership is overblown -- when you give people something compelling to see, they will watch! What a great game!

Now, if Wemby isn't shooting around 50% from three, this turns into an unwatchable game of HORSE, ending in a Knicks blowout.

How do you define crunch time?
December 15, 2024 at 8:35 AM
Great stats! When do see him getting a real look with the big club?
November 26, 2024 at 5:50 AM
He has been killing it recently. I did not expect him to be this consistently good.

2-2. Losses to SA and OKC.

That’s great news! Hoping for a long run of games with Devin & Stephon on the court together.
November 26, 2024 at 5:29 AM
I wish we had a better sense of how much longer Devin would be out. Being conservative is smart but I’m eager to see what our new starting five could do in the court together. Do we have a timetable for Sochan’s return?
