Yr #9. Phenomenal middle grade historical fiction mystery. Would make a great classroom read aloud! Absolutely loved every moment at Bletchley Park (and I can’t wait to visit it someday!)! #mglit #historicalfiction #readaloud #BookSky

Yr #8. What I love about reading Schneider Family Book Award winners is the new perspectives and empathy I gain. #yalit #schneiderfamilybookaward #booksky

Yr #7. I’m not a celebrity memoir reader; however, something tells me it’s not your usual “celebrity” who is writing White House policy. 😉 Loved absolutely every page and closed the book with lots of good things to think about. #books #booksky #governerds

Yr #6. A quick little read to accompany my walk through the Psalms. I might pickup others in this series.

Yr #5. I liked it, but I don’t get the hype. What I enjoyed most was how Phoebe begins to find her voice as the story unfolds. Not upset I read it, just not sure this will be one I recommend. #BookSky

Yr #4. This book and Psalms kicked off my January morning devotions time. I can easily see reading this book at the start of each year. Thoughtful, practical, short chapters make it a perfect fit for my mornings. 🩷 #books #BookSky

Yr #3. What a fun middle grade read! 0% surprised that Hoosier kiddos would honor this book with a Young Hoosier Book Award. Math teacher friends, this would make a fun read aloud for you! #BookSky #Books #MGLit

What do you notice? What do you wonder? These are my books for today’s The Lit Gals show on @keepINLearning YouTube channel (live at 3:30 PM ET or searchable later). I won’t have time to talk about all of them, so check out the show notes. Guesses on the show theme? #BookSky #EduSky

Yr #2. Read in preparation for next The Lit Gals show on award winning books. Oh is this one worthy! Loved living senior year with Effie. #YALit at its finest! @claire4est #schneiderfamilybookaward @keepinlearning.bsky.social #books #BookSky

Yr #1. Nothing like starting the year with a stretch read. This is a who-done-it historical fiction mystery set it Lisbon in the early 1500s. #OddThirdThirdThursdayBookClub #BookSky

My top reads for the year - 6 MG/YA and 9 adult reads #books #BookSky

Yr #62. Maybe the most fun book I read this year! Maggie and Ethan’s dynamic was so fun to see unfold. I’m not ready to say “bye” Maggie; I think there’s a more somber story of her’s to tell. Bottom line - I just love Ally Carter! #books #BookSky

Yr #61. EXCELLENT read! Absolutely Schneider Family Award worthy! Maudie held my heart as I walked through her adventures of summer break with her dad. I’ll think about this book for a while. 🩷 #yalit #BookSky #SchneiderFamilyBookAward #Books

Year #60. Stunningly beautiful epic novel. Rich characters & thoughtful setting & perfectly-paced plot. Typically about 100 pages from the end, I’m ready for the story to wrap up; that was not the case with this book. My only regret? Leaving this one in the TBR pile far so long. #BookSky #books

Yr #59. 🩷🩷🩷 1) THIS is why I read - to experience places & lives I will never have. 2) the photographs in this book are STUNNING. Oh to have students to share this with so they could see just how diverse our beautiful planet is! This is a quick read which will stick with you. #book #BookSky

Year #58. Sadie is an honest, caring narrator who I want to spend more time with. Readers from 7th grade and up will appreciate her sharing her struggles and experiences with anxiety. (And this transracial adoptive mom loved Jackson’s storyline and wants to know more!) #yalit #BookSky

Yr #57. My first Annie F. Downs book, but it will not be my last. I loved her honesty and vulnerability as she wrestled with the idea of “is God kind?” I’ll never look at a cathedral the same way again. #books #book

Yr #56. So good! I love how Melody is determined to not be defined by her CP or her chair. What a great classroom read aloud this would be! (And what an icky character Claire is — there’s a story waiting to be told). From one special needs mom to another, thank you Sharon Draper! #mglit #books

Yr #55. If I was in a middle school classroom, this would be a read aloud. What a look at anxiety (& a few other timely real-life issues). This is a book any middle schooler would enjoy (and many adults too!). #books #mglit

Picture book Sunday part 4 (final) - because Mac Barnett & Jon Klassen are the best picture book duo around. And this trio of books is great! (Don’t tell ▪️&🔺that I liked 🟣’s book best!) #picturebooks
