What happens when consumers have no choice but to use services that rely on personalization? Should there be more options for non-personalized services? It's a question worth considering as data privacy debates evolve.

In my research with Daria Baltag, we found that consumers are just as unwilling to share their data for personalized services as they are for personalized advertising. This suggests a need to rethink how personal data is used—even for "core" services. bit.ly/4eB1V7n
