I wish I could take credit for this. I couldn't find the original post, but the meme was basically this.

Tropical Cyclone 9 has a high likelihood of becoming Hurricane Imelda. Here is the latest predited path from NOAA.

NOAA, the NWS, and the National Hurricane Center are essential in providing fast, accurate forecasts, including predicting hurricane tracks and issuing advisories.

This is censorship, plain and simple. Executives are lining their pockets at the expense of the US’s fundamental values. There’s a reason the founders made free speech & the ability to express opinions & ideas the FIRST Amendment!
America is a country, not a corporation. #FreeKimmel #BoycottDisney.

I’ve wondered what it would take for me to call the cops on someone. Now I know it’s people climbing on the dunes at the beach.
Dunes protect the shorelines. Foot traffic expedites erosion. There are ordinances & fines in place to protect the dunes. Respect the environment, please.

Same people who believe teachers brainwash children. If I'd brainwashed my students, they would have turned their work in on time and brought me coffee every day.

Sneak peek from my trip to Vancouver Island back in May. Even our animal mascot likes it better outside the US...

Great day at the @amnh.org in NYC yesterday! Esp enjoyed the exhibit on PacNW civilizations & First Nations. Amazing exhibit and definitely worth seeing if you are visiting the museum. I plan to use some of the information I learned to help with my portfolio project with Teacher Transition!

The gear is here!
Best photography advice I have ever received is “rent your gear if you don’t use it often, or want to try out a new stuff.”
I use @lensrentals.bsky.social! Their gear is well cared for & their customer service is great.
Can’t wait to use this stuff on my trip later this week!

Yesterday kicked off sea turtle nesting season on Topsail Island! My 2nd home is a major nesting ground; most of the nests belong to loggerheads, who come ashore at night. Help the turtles by turning off beach front lights, flattening sandcastles & filling in holes, and removing beach gear.

Today is Antarctic Ambassador Day! I visited the white continent last year and am proud to be an ambassador for this amazing ecosystem. If you want to visit Antarctica, too, send me a message. I would be glad to share information, tips, and travel advice. Here are some to start:

Today is Earth Day!

We only have this one - there is no "Planet B". And Earth is in trouble. The ozone layer is being depleted, the planet is experiencing global warming, and species are going extinct on a daily basis. Pollution is also a major concern and weather systems are becoming more extreme.

Support the Heard Island economy! Purchase a pebble like I did from local residents. As their site says, "just like a pebble, you don’t have to be big to make ripples of change."

Today is National Dolphin Day! There are 38 species of dolphins, the largest of which is the orca, and the smallest being the Hector’s dolphin. But no matter how big or small, they are one of the oceans most intelligent and charismatic inhabitants.

This guy wore a friggin’ TUXEDO to his meeting and still got slammed with tariffs. This regime has no shame…

While sad, this does provide scientists and researchers with a way to identify individuals. Check out the webcams from @savethemanateeclub.bsky.social (established in 1981 by the infamous Jimmy Buffett!) & use the Researcher Scar Sheet to identify some of the individual manatees that might swim by!

Happy International Day of the Seal! There are 34 species of seals divided into true seals, fur seals, and walrus. True seals lack external ear flaps, have short, fur covered front flippers. They can't rotate their pelvis, so they move by "galumphing." Here are some of my favorite seal shots.
