The purple bell vine flowers are blooming! I love these so much, they might be my favorite summer flower I have on my deck. I grow them from seed and overwinter them if I can. They seem to love our PNW summers. #PNWgardening #pnwgarden

The first blossoms on the thin leaf huckleberry shrubs! I planted these maybe 3 years ago from tiny starts. They are growing on a slope with kinnikinnick with early morning to early afternoon sun. #pnwgardening #nativeplants

I tried this plant based ham today and it is good! I can't eat meat like I used to for reasons, so I'm always looking for a reasonable alternative. This is hands down the best meat alternative I've tried so far. I can make a proper ham sandwich out of this stuff. I need to find their bacon!

Canning up apple pie filling last year was the best idea ever. I use it for apple crisp, apple pie, pancake topping, and even ice cream topping. Today we're making pie, just make the crust and plop in the filling and bake.

Purchased a greenhouse! I'm kind of excited about it. Now I'm busy putting this thing together. In a world gone mad, the most punk rock thing you can do is grow your own food and share the bounty with friends. Feed your soul, save the world. Spring is coming.

Swedish meatballs for dinner with homemade lingonberry preserves. Apple crisp for dessert made from homemade apple pie filling I canned in late summer. Happy Sunday.

I'm never too old to make a snowman. I gave them gloves, a hat, and a scarf to keep them warm...wait...

A yellow crowned kinglet. These little guys bounce around like crazy, it's super hard to snap a photo of one, they never sit still long enough! There is a flock of these that bounce around the garden this time of year, they are so fun to watch.

I put the dried orange slices I used for Xmas decorations on the little tree outside for the wildlife and the squirrels are loving them.

It's been a rough couple of days. I needed a smile, so I picked up this sunny primrose while out grocery shopping.
