Using the dowels went well, so I'm also using them around the edge. Also with a drilling guide. I don't think it's fancy enough to be a jig. Feels like a bit of a waste of wood, but if I get four accurate edges, it'll be worth it.

Using the router to create a recessed end. I find it the scariest tool to use, so it's good to get some practice. Even if the result is a bit sloppy.

Having a go at using dowels.

My Christmas tradition is a woodwork project. This year, because the garage is being renovated, I've got the luxury of a large space.
