there are at least 2 lessons here we should bear in mind today:

1. People in power rarely concede to the demands of those with less power without organized resistance & mass mobilization

2. Ideas that seem radical one day become can completely normal the next.

Did you know the “weekend” and working only 8 hours per day used to be considered a radical, liberal idea?

139 years ago today, in Bay View, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 7 workers (including a 13 yo) lost their lives to advance this revolutionary idea.

This "debate" about who should use what toilet doesn’t benefit anyone. It doesn’t fix the underfunding of women's refuges, NHS waiting lists leaving women in terrible pain, mums skipping meals to feed their kids. How about we get on with tackling the real issues affecting women?

This is about moral courage. It reminds us that tyranny thrives when we stay silent. Bullies rely on fear and compliance. By standing firm and refusing to appease, we affirm justice, self-respect, and human dignity. Resistance is not optional it is our duty. Always.
