Despite what many try to avoid as they grow up, and what we might tell ourselves, at some point in your life, you realise that you have turned into one of your parents. In my case it is my father. My father had a few passions in life. He had a great love of sport, especially Cricket, and as a child growing up in Australia, in an era of the advent of television & sports broadcasting, it was an easy passion for me to adopt.

It's a cold wet morning in Sydney as I sit in my home office. We have a "east coast low" sitting just off shore which has turned summer off for a few days, dumped a whole lot of rain and blown away the building humidity. The hot weather will return in the next few days and we will see a few more weeks of summer.
