Tipularia discolor, the crane-fly orchid! This one is relatively common, but I’m new to the world of orchids. I’ve seen the stunning, lone leaf of this plant in the field, but this is my first encounter with the blooms. That long nectar spur is a great clue about what pollinates it! #botany #orchids
