Kind of. Time ago one would use sticks like that for hunting. Slot the barrel of a rifle in the gap and use it to steady the aim. I like to hang the bag with mushrooms on it...

The one for me is the sickle I use to cut lavender late summer every year. It's not a wood working tool, but it's probably twice as old as me and I had to make a new handle for it - so I hope it counts:) and yes, it works for lavender better than garden shears.
