This morning I attended the @unibirmingham.bsky.social Public Engagement Awards and found out I have been highly commended for the Alice Roberts PGR Excellence in Public Engagement Award for the public engagement activities surrounding my PhD project.

As part of this we are currently evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of an educational workshop on self-harm for those in dance education. We are looking to conclude this work at end of December and with limited spaces left please get in touch if you are interested.

Beautiful day spent at The Exchange for the Public and Cultural Engagement Day hosted by the Public Engagement Team at the University of Birmingham ☀️

A big part of my PhD involves sharing our research findings with those in dance to help support them with self-harm concerns in dance students.

It has been excellent to get some protected writing time after presenting this work at the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science Annual Conference in Rimini, Italy a couple of week ago 🩰

An excellent few days having the most beautiful writing mates for the SPRINT Project writing retreat. Achieved some good progress on my PhD manuscript on dance teachers responses to self-harm in private dance education and the overall team’s work on safeguarding and abuse prevention in dance 🦌
