I’ve attempted to do the same, but as of now, I’m not getting something that looks like my input STL file. Trouble is, I don’t know if the reconstruction code isn’t working, or if the hologram computation isn’t working. I need a “ground truth” to establish which one works. (lol).

Also, do you have any tips in testing the CGH in code to verify it is a legit hologram before starting the relatively expensive process of physically printing it? I am producing (in Python) *something*, I’m just not sure it would yield a reconstructable hologram.

I’m curious if you’ve ever actually printed your CGHs to film/plate and reconstruct them using a laser reference beam IRL. If so, do you have any wisdom to share there?
